Meet the Team

 

Joe Nugent Director of Sales & Marketing 

Joe Nugent graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio with a degree in Communications and emphasis in Organizational Communications.  Upon graduating, he went to work in the hotel industry and has held numerous positions such as Food and Beverage Manager, General Manager, Catering Manager, Regional Sales Director and Director of Sales & Marketing.  He has worked for some of the largest hotel companies and prior to being named to his current position, he was a Regional Sales Director for InterContinental Hotels Group, where he worked with over 30 hotels in 4 states.  Joe currently oversees the sales and catering team of the Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport @ Town Center, which has 169 rooms and over 7,000 sq. ft. of banquet and meeting space. Joe is active in the community serving as the Chair for the Bonita Springs Chamber of Commerce Area Young Professionals, as well as sitting on the Board of Directors for that Chamber.  He also volunteers with the Youth Leadership Council for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.  Most recently, he won the award for the inaugural Young Professional of the Year presented by The News Press.

Ani Farrell - Senior Sales Manager

Ani joined the Holiday Inn as a Sales Manager back in 2008 - prior to hotel opening. Throughout the years she has been earning our clients trust by creating accommodation/meeting solutions to their specific needs and collaborating with team members to assure that group’s expectations are met and exceeded.A native of Bulgaria, Ani earned her Bachelor’s in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria.Her professional experience includes various roles in the travel and hotel industries, including 3 major hotel brands – Marriott, Hilton and IHG.Ani is passionate about environmental sustainability and greener, healthier living, as well as business growth through innovation, science and technology.She is involved with SW Chapter of BioFlorida (as a chapter business co-chair) a statewide association that showcases, connects and supports the life science community in the region.In her leisure time, Ani enjoys travelling, the outdoors, exploring different places, cultures and cuisines. 

Danielle LaBelle - Sales Manager                                                                                                                          

Originally from Boston, growing up in Atlanta and then moving to SW Florida in 2012, Danielle brings unique industry experience to the team that allows her insights into both sides of the event process. Prior to joining Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport, she had experience in direct sales for a Fortune 1000 consumer goods company as well as within the hospitality industry. Danielle has been in Food and Beverage since the age of 15, starting in the restaurant industry and most recently as the Food and Beverage Director for a country club in Atlanta. Danielle has a strong work ethic and is dedicated to providing solutions to various hotel needs. She is very passionate about volunteering, with American Lung Cancer and Project Warmth being two of the causes she is most active with. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with family, New England Patriots football, cooking and anything that involves the Florida sunshine. 

Kayla Carney - Catering Manager

After graduating from Ball State University in May 2014, Kayla moved to Southwest Florida from Nappanee, Indiana. She has her Bachelors of Science degree in Hospitality and Food Management with a minor in Leadership Studies. Before graduation, Kayla interned with the Ronald McDonald House of Indianapolis in special events. After graduation she began working at the Hilton Marco Island as a Front Desk Agent and then went on to become the Catering Assistant at DeRomo’s Restaurant and Gourmet Market. Kayla joined us as the Catering Assistant in June 2015. Kayla enjoys long walks on the beach and Papa John’s pizza.
